Many of you figure that it would be an impossible task to trim your ferrets nails (claws to those anal people).
It is SO easy!
What you need is a distraction

Firstly, mix up a concoction of the following and put it into a squirty bottle from the plastic shop.
One third "light" olive oil.
One third flax seed oil (this is what distracts their mouths).
One third of cod liver oil (this is what makes it yummy for them).
Sit down and place them on your lap upside-down (with their head resting on your tummy) and squirt of few drops on their belly (for male ferrets its the area around their penis).
They will sit in this position undeterred while licking their tummy
You can then proceed to cut their nails without any fuss whatsoever - squirt a bit more if you haven't quite finished the job and give them a few extra squirts when you are done.
Be careful not to cut their nails too short (that red area where nail meets flesh - can't remember the name of it but you know what I mean).
This mixture of juice also includes stuff that may be missing from their diet - don't give them too much. Keep it as a "treat" and they will NEVER stop you clipping their nails.
