just wondering what owners feed their ferret's!!.
Our girl used to love: chicken hearts - raw egg - dry cat food biscuits & we used to give her schmacko's (dog chew's) to clean her teeth.
She was the best.
Ferrets (unlike humans) need high-protein and high-fat content food.
It all depends what they grow up with and what they accept.
I feed them Iams Kitten which it the highest fat/protein biscuits you can buy.
They munch on this 24/4.
In the evening, they have cheap Pack-n-Save mince (they all love it) and, as a treat, Jerhigh Chicken Sticks (usually only two thirds of a stick - any more then they will expect it over mince which is good for them and too much makes their poo look red - portions depend on their size).
In the mornings, they each have a small (glass spice) bowl of lactose-free milk - I use VitaPet Pet Milk (none of them will touch any other brand).
I have tried egg and chicken but my guys turn up their noses.
I had a farmer-friend bring over some fresh rabbit and hare meat. I ran an experiment for a few days by placing one of each (including mince) side-by-side.
Everyone took a wide berth around the rabbit and hare and refused to go anywhere near the vicinity (I had to move the mince far away from the rabbit and hare before they got stuck into the mince).
They all love banana on the rare occasions
We gave our 2 girls a small bowl of pet milk every day too & they loved it, raw eggs were their favourite though.

Yep it's amazing how two ferrets can be so different! one of our girls Sammie loved her toys & would always drag her squeaky toy into her sleeping quarters when she went to sleep!! but our other girl Rosey would have nothing to do with toys what so ever.
They were both from the same litter but had completely different characters.
Mine live on rabbit and hare with cat biscuits here and there, the big problem with them is the amount of water needed. They also love a feed of catfood. If you can get them chicken necks work very well.
